Sam Fender Scraps Front Standing Tickets on Stadium Tour

Sam Fender has removed a ticket category from sale for his upcoming tour after saying he was unhappy with the pricing.

The 32-year-old announced his Proper Massive Stadium Tour earlier this week. It will visit Newcastle, Cardiff, London, Edinburgh, Dublin and Manchester in summer 2027. Tickets have not yet gone on sale, but Fender replied to a social media post that claimed to set out the expected prices.

He said he was "not happy" with the reported figures. "They're getting changed," he said on Instagram. In his words, the prices had been "inflated well more than I'd had in mind" and should only rise in relation to the cost of putting the show on.

The North Shields singer also said he did not want fans to have the option of paying extra to stand closer to the front.

New prices

In a later post on his Instagram story, Fender said he had "managed to get front standing tickets removed from the UK stadium tour". Whoever buys a standing ticket, he said, has as much chance as anyone of being at the front. There will be no more "120 quid standing tickets" either.

General admission standing will cost £85. Seated tickets will be £95, £75 and £55. Fender said these prices exclude venue and ticket company fees, and the £1 ticket contribution to the Live Trust, which supports grassroots venues.

He blamed rising costs. "Costs are astronomical compared to two years ago, I can't control the venue and ticketing fees, that's a sad reality of today's industry," he wrote.

Tickets are due to go on general sale at 09:30 GMT on Friday. A pre-sale starts at the same time on Wednesday.

Fender is not the first musician to raise concerns over ticket pricing. Earlier this year Zara Larsson agreed with fans that her tickets were too expensive. The Swedish singer said she did not have control over the prices, but hoped she would in the future.
