Jamie Webster Named First Headliner for On The Waterfront 2027

Liverpool's On The Waterfront concert series returns to Pier Head from 17 to 20 June 2027, and Jamie Webster has been named as its first headliner. He plays on Friday 18 June, with the Liverpool band The Cheap Thrills as support. More acts are still to be announced across the four days.

Webster has played the event before. He played two nights at On The Waterfront in 2023, and afterwards wrote on X: "I don't really know how to put Thursday and Friday into words, I'm sat here in a bit of a bubble still."

From pub circuit to Pier Head

His debut album "We Get By" came out in 2020 and topped the UK Folk Albums Chart. He first came to wider notice on the city's pub circuit, where his performance of "Allez Allez Allez" went viral in 2018. Since then he has sold out Sefton Park, Liverpool Waterfront and the M&S Bank Arena. He has released four albums, the latest being "Running Round The Sun" in September.

Before that album came out he told the Liverpool Echo that it had been nearly two years since he had done his own proper tour with the band. "Sometimes I feel like when you take a bit of time out, you feel like you've sort of fallen behind a little bit," he said. He added that he was looking forward to getting out and "knocking down a few more walls and breaking through a few more ceilings".

The show runs from 5pm to 11pm, with last entry at 7.30pm. Tickets start at £40 plus booking fee, and it is a standing event. All ages are admitted, subject to the licence. Under-18s must be accompanied by an adult, with a maximum of two children per adult.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday 30 October.
